We're temporarily restricting Show HNs because of an influx

You've only had an account for under an hour, and 20 of it was spent crafting your post?

I'd expect the intent is to help cut down on some of the wave of drive by Show HN posts by requiring folks engage with the site for a bit first and get a feel for the expectations.

The restriction iirc is mentioned from time to time since

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47346735 [dang mentions there is a restriction]

To be fair, it is done exactly to protect against accounts like yours. HN quality needs to be gate-keeped and new accounts absolutely need to be throttled. You may have meant well and be genuine but the bar is high now especially due to AI bots.

People have been sharing AI-Generated garbage nonstop. They're not even trying. Writing a single prompt to claude, publishing the site, and then spamming it everywhere in the hopes they make a dime.

I'm glad HN is doing something about this.

Post the link as a non-Show HN post?
