Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele in Conversation (2018)

A great rambling book that's related here and connected to neuroscience too is "The Age of Insight: The Quest to Understand the Unconscious in Art, Mind, and Brain, from Vienna 1900 to the Present". And since TFA seems to have some broken links.. book details with more art: https://magazine.columbia.edu/article/your-brain-klimt

this is better than TFA

Klimt was super talented but I can't stand most of his work as it reminds me of migraine aura.

too bad

For me the other way round: Klimt master. Schiele and Kokoschka: silly and immature

Klimt was the litmus-test for impressionism in the 19th century.

A litmus-test in what way?
