What do they even mean by this? “There’s not a way to be certain, unless we found some specific marker for the vaccine”

I imagine they haven't found a "marker" because they haven't looked for one. Also haven't found one for anything else

Healthy child takes vaccine / get myocarditis soon after / dies... / vaccine is known to cause myocarditis

It's not definitive, but it's probably a better explanation than the rest. Unless the virus or some other condition come forward and confess

A few months back they made a big deal about having confirmed a handful of deaths. This is a walk-back.

Either way, the safety profile is clear. We gave billions of shots with wonderfully low complication rates, especially versus untreated COVID.

But nothing changed, they still think it's "probable" just that "there is no way to know anything definitively"
