AI Wearables Are Coming but They'll Need to Pass the Coffee Shop Test to Survive

Wearables are creepy. Please stop pushing “products” that nobody wants.

The scary part is, some people do want them. And from that, they will just keep getting advertised and pushed onto customers anyway.

Only tangentially related to the article but I have a family member that is losing sight due to macular degeneration. They are not far now from legally blind.

If AI wearables could help them navigate unfamiliar places, identify and read signs or answer questions about their surroundings I think they would leap at it.

If this is anything like that stupid AI pin it's going to fail.

Connor, how much was AI used in the production of this article?

There must be a name for that offputting feeling , when you are reading something, and the more you read it, it just feels less human?

Sorry Connor, I'm sure you're a lovely bloke, but a lot of this scream "AI"

Yep, there's already a term for this - the uncanny valley.

"I'm sorry but we have to ask you to leave"
