The nostalgia. I did not much use XChat, but did use custom IRC clients like irssi that were capable of backdooring MSN chat rooms and had the ability to utilize many custom scripts.
You know, I don't think the scams and spam are because of the design of the "Communities" tool but because those are the only people left using the website.
Why do people believe this? This kind of hyperbole is useless and annoying. This is the only social media where you get all important people using it.
I believe it because it's basically fact? I used to see twitter referenced all the time and I would even participate in the app, now it's kind of a wasteland.
I see x links frequently shared even in communities that have a quite a few people already on bluesky etc.
>This is the only social media where you get all important people using it.
All important people use X? lmao
Who doesn’t use?
Trump, for one.
X is shutting down... happy face Communities because of low usage and lots of spam not happy face
Huh, I'd never heard of them.
So they're monkey-branching from cloning Reddit to cloning Discord. Wonder if that'll work better for them.
