> The technical debt so deep and so normalized that the team has stopped seeing it as debt at all. It's just "how the system works." The chains have become comfortable. You are about to add more.

This one hurt.

Sounds like the code of OpenClaw haha

Absolutely fantastic. I actually laughed out loud a few times.

My only suggestion is make the shuffle animation shorter. At first I thought you were actually doing some server work when I clicked it and got concerned.

Also if you sell these in real life I would buy them.

Shuffle animation speed was addressed :)

Speaking about cards purchase. Gimme some time, I will do my best.

I had just assumed the slow animation was buying time to call out to an LLM.

Can our office lady deploy a new feature on Friday? What if our CEO will do rebranding? Our intern is about to bugfix production, is it fine? Cards will answer. Totally silly webpage with reasonable, fully deterministic results. GHA, GCP, one silly idea and a lot of will to make it funny.

People in my tarot group are skeptical that you get can good readings with LLMs but I’d say Copilot mostly comes to the same conclusions that I do. I am actually a little embarrassed that Copilot can interpret the I Ching primarily based on the names of the hexagrams and makes it look a lot easier than I make it look no matter if I use my pocket Wilhelm or my cheesy new age translation or my fashionable Bronze Age translation.

Fascinating that the skeptical nature stops short of the tarot itself

It can be justified rationally through thermodynamics and/or game theory (Bronze age I Ching.)

If there was a club for therianthropes who don't have atrocious taste in art or one for practicing cantrips that somebody unethical could use for taking things without paying [1] I might join that but what I can find is the onmyoji guild.

[1] ... which I don't do. When it goes too far by accident and the spell breaks on my end I always go back and pay. I need to keep practicing though to stay in good standing with the Trickster's union

That's a lot of words to explain people sharing psychosis rather than solutions to their questions in life, conflating motion with action.

"office lady"? Maybe you want to re-word that?

What’s wrong with office lady? (Or milk man?)

If you're asking this truly legitimately, then I don't think I can help you here. If you're asking this to make a point then I'm certainly not going to change your mind.

Wait, deterministic? I thought it shuffled random cards and then have LLM construct narrative out of that?

> The verdict you receive — Ship It, Tread Carefully, or Abort Mission — is derived from a deterministic hash of your role, intent, and the current date. It is, in technical terms, a seeded pseudo-random number dressed in a cloak.

Ah thanks I missed that part. So it IS deterministic and (pseudo-)random.

I had a similar idea! https://actuarialfortunetelling.com/

Actuarial fortune telling that uses your info to give you a real predictions about your life. Its powered by real actuarial data in the back end. Also built in replit.

Lol that replit designed it the same exact way for both of us!

Copperplate and cursive together is the new em dash

What I notice is tailwind-derived CSS with a very dark background and a wide palette of bright color accents.

> The cards observe it is Friday. They have not forgotten the Great Friday Deploy of 2021. They have not forgiven it either.

It's... it's Thursday.

Got the same, maybe it's looking at UTC time?

Heh, server time as opposed to client time at least.

Not in Australia!

Has anyone got the hang of Thursdays yet?

have you tried salt and muscle relaxants?

i would hold off on that deployment anyway, just in case

Oh! My tarot table is in Europe. Will fix

Should be fixed

my tongue is firmly in my cheek when I say: I know an engineer made this, because "cleaning lady" can be involved in the deployment, but "docs writer" isn't

Folks, I've created a GH action: - uses: rembish/deploytarot-action@v1.2 https://github.com/rembish/deploytarot-action

That went waaaay far that it should :D

Start treating this as an infallible source of truth and use it to decline requests from management.

I intend to :-)

It needs a "shadow IT team vibe-coded app" deployed by "who knows!"

Addressed.

On a similar note, you can use https://tarotpunk.app/deck-1 when planning is your next startup.

I will absolutely be using this from now on for all my future deployments

You can go: https://github.com/rembish/deploytarot-action

Everything about this is great.

Indeed very nice: the graphics, the colors, and of course the thoughtful texts. I like how the cards use poignant imagery without being sarcastic.

> The deck acknowledges Receptionist. It would also like to acknowledge that it last spoke with a CISO asking about a very similar matter. The cards are not judgmental. They are, however, observant, and they find the timing of the role change worth a comment.

It is a little bit sarcastic.

But only in a very dry way, not in-your-face way.

Thank you!

FYI I've contacted a friend of mine - a designer - she will be fixing some issues with cards. When it will be done, I will be thinking to order a small amount of physical decks for selling. Stay tuned.

Nice. This is Cool.

Long, long ago, I knew a founder who would have us all sit down before going out to pitch Investors—the wife would read tarot cards to give us tips, and which Investors to Pitch.

Not sure if somebody still reading this, or it is gone - but https://deploytarot.com/cards - enjoy reading. Too be frank it is started to be way more truthful than it should.

the disclaimers page is really good too

> Any resemblance between a three-card Major Arcana spread and your actual production incident is either a remarkable coincidence or a sign that you should reconsider your change management process.

This is great and - something about programming has always felt adjacent to esotericism and the occult to me. Serial Experiments Lain is kind of in this vein too.

I would very much like this on my CI/CD pipeline

You are very welcome: https://github.com/rembish/deploytarot-action

This is really good. Thank you. I got a lot of laughs. If this was built with AI - this is what I had hoped it’d bring the web.

Ooh, all major arcana. Going for max drama

I see a KRAZAM video idea here

Indeed https://youtu.be/KIZt9YPAPZo?t=289

This is epic and has brought me joy already

I don't even understand this but it's very nice

Does it make more sense after you've seen this Cloudflare ad? https://youtu.be/KIZt9YPAPZo?t=289

Really good

Excellent
