IAASL wasn't my favorite but I think I had certain expectations going into it, having just read GEB. I appreciated the book more when I began thinking of it as Hofstadter really trying to lay down in the plainest terms he could what he's been getting at his whole career as it relates to people/consciousness, but perhaps hasn't put into single piece of work.
