Generally speaking people and countries are less likely to help you, when you have recently threatened, insulted and belittled them.
Everything is completely transactional for Trump. What is in it for him? There is no longer a UK-US relationship in any meaningful sense. The sooner British politicians understand that, the better.

Volume of oil (or LNG) isnt really the problem for the western hemisphere, its the doubling of price.

3.8% is a lot less than the news reports were implying. But, as you say, it will drive up the global price.
Except how much is the US/Trump actually helping Ukraine nowadays? How much are they providing? And how dependent on the US does Ukraine actually want to be given Trump's fandom of Putin?

Those that were paying attention knew there was a deal in place that the US withdrew from then tried to negotiate a worse deal for themselves.
