Show HN: Airport Swap

I've been living in Denver for a few years and the prices for simple airport rides are kind of crazy.

In an effort to build/expand community - I built Airport Swap. It is a platform to exchange rides to/from the airport _for free_. Give a ride to get a ride!

Airport Swap is was built with the intention of building (or finding) community or relying on a circle of trust to choose drivers/riders (friends of friends pretty much). Connecting people on their street, in their building, or from a board game group they attended before is the goal.

Looking for any feedback :)

Cheers!

Interesting! Seems like this could very easily be generalized. Tool sharing/swapping, ditto for books, rides to things other than the airport, etc. E.g. on the latter: some medical procedures like colonoscopies (basically anything that involves general anaesthesia) require you to have someone pick you up at the end, you're not allowed to take a Lyft home. That seems highly viable for trading favors, though hard to build trust on unless it's part of a larger sharing network.

Yeah!

This was also kind of built out of the idea of my people on smaller (like small towns) Facebook groups asking for rides to the airport, rides to the doctors, etc, etc.

I'm just not sure how the userbases will discover this but that's one of the things to figure out!

I'll be honest, when I first loaded the site I was thinking wait is this app basically saying its people sharing their private jet time?

but then I read it more in depth and understood. I do wonder if the the naming could be a bit different. just my 2c

Yeah, initially I was going to go with "Airport Exchange" but that domain was taken - this one was available and fairly straightforward without being too long. Thanks for the input!

Looks cool. I've used BlaBlaCar (paid carpooling) in Europe a few times to get to difficult to reach ski resorts and such. I wish we had that here in the US.
