Ask HN: Gemini Pro Plan Quota Reductions

For those using Antigravity with Gemini Pro Plan, what are your experiences about the quotas and plans?

There's some discussion here https://discuss.ai.google.dev/t/quota-limit-for-pro-plan/130811/2

Personally I started using it 2 months ago, with the Pro plan, and the quotas were generous, but I feel they are constantly reducing them. Today I just opened Antigravity and got a message saying my weekly quota was used, even if yesterday was ok. Even the Plan descriptions are opaque about what's the usage limits.

I have been happy with Gemini (especially v2), but the unexpected quotas changes make me want to switch.

They changed the quota yesterday so it immediately takes a week to refresh instead of 5h

In the followup post they link to

Which claims

    > Users on Google AI Pro receive:
    > High, generous quota, refreshed every five hours until weekly limit reached
    > Higher weekly rate limit

Which is clearly false now. It seems like deceptive marketing to me, that they just arbitrarily change the quota by that much. If I had the year plan, I'd feel pretty scammed.

I don't know why there aren't more people on here talking about it.

My hunch is that when using their plans and tooling, they are optimizing for profits, which will come at your expense.

I use the API directly and a custom agent stack. Fewer issues and better results across the board.
