Also called datamoshing, it dates back a few decades already: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_artifact#Artistic_...

Datamoshing or Glitch art. There's even a ffmpeg fork just for glitching: https://github.com/ramiropolla/ffglitch-core

Very tangential, but this hexing business brought to mind the classic https://aphyr.com/posts/341-hexing-the-technical-interview

'0dd.company is a collective of slightly strange makers

Those with a weird creative spark seeking a little push'

This is so much more fun than working 9-5 for evil corp then working untill late night on another side project that probably won't make me rich

Pretty sure the majority of people who are a part of the community work a 9-5. But yes, spending after work hours making something that's just completely out there with no monetary purpose at all is much more nourishing for the soul than attempting to create a passive income machine.

I get a "No video with supported format and MIME type found" error.

I wonder if something like Gemini Veo (AI video generator) could re-make old movies. It might be hard to keep the consistency over the entire movie.

Why would you want this?

This could be a name for an IKEA product...

It's actually from the Swedish word häxors, teenagers who live in their parents basement interfering with communications. Christian Benjaminsen made a documentary about them in the 1920s.

Not a lot of people know that.

This is the coolest site ever
