Trump admin is pulling supercomputers out of key weather and climate center

Is there global weather research being done in the EU that is not subject to a toddler's whims?

What do you need a super computer for when you have a sharpie?

At basically the worst time possible to find other scientific compute bases.

Well without anywhere near the financial talent needed to continue to afford predicting hurricanes as well as everybody else up until now, the right thing to do might just be to use the hardware for money-making purposes before it's too late.

The stupidest thing you could do is move supercomputers though, when at times like this the desperate need is for super processing power to stay right there in the government building where all the additional cash flow can be captured by the very strapped agency that is suffering under the spiraling funding shortfall.

I also wonder where this super hardware is going to go and if they are ever going to be as useful as they used to be.
