This article has very little context. Here is the kind of comment he was receiving: https://www.threads.com/@thehawthornelibrary/post/DUE7PWnjIm...

So the "backlash" is people on threads complaining that he isn't morally pure enough because he invested in SpaceX. This is to be expected from the "everything is political" types of people that are prevalent on Threads (and BlueSky). Tom should just ignore them.

The pure evil of these purity tests is fully on display and as repulsive as ever.

Insane thing to write when the "purity test" is not supporting/investing in a defense contractor with a CEO who begged Epstein to go to the island.

That's to be expected, since the majority of people on either of those services are those with a deep hatred of Musk. Not sure why he expected a different reaction, or why he's even slumming it on those services to begin with.

Not sure if I'm missing a significant portion of the article as a non-subscriber, but there seems to be no backlash nor explanation of why he deleted it.

From the article:

UPDATE: Tom Anderson deleted his post and changed his Threads bio following thousands of negative comments about his work with SpaceX and Elon Musk. In addition to his existing bio section, he added: “update: no interest in politics.”

Ah, I was expecting much more elaboration considering the title.

Return? It still exists

Redditors endlessly whining about a big nothing burger. What else is new?
