I'm not sure what the solution is for this other than swift, severe, and public punishment for discovered offenders, to discourage others.

Perhaps a requirement on companies that provide AI services to monitor them and forward offenders to law enforcement.

A pretty ugly thing to inflict on someone else, creating these images.

The first step would be making X liable for contact their AI posted, both financially for the victims and criminally where a crime exists (which probably isn't in this case under current law, but would be if the target is underage). You'd be amazing how fast it would be fixed if Musk was in jail over it (he's clearly a flight risk)

Put the liability onto the company instead of onto the taxpayer. I don't think the US has it in them but maybe the EU or Australia can do it.

I've never used them myself because I'm a guy, and as the article says, 99% of this is targeting women.

I heard the convincing argument that AI CSAM is bad because it means you can pass off real CSAM as "Oh maybe it's AI though". They don't want to let GenAI give cover for something bad.

So maybe the strong argument against NCII is the same - It doesn't matter how you got an image of someone, if it's non-consensual then it's wrong.

Hopefully cartoons can still be the exception since they're obviously not photographic in style. Political cartoons and satire would never be mistaken for photos.

I would not want to be Musk, on record for making light of it and initially declining to take action, when the administration changes.
