My respect for Nadella or whoever among his leadership team greenlit this diminishes further. Having access to an extremely comprehensive technical library was invaluable for R&D and also one of the powerful invisible privileges available to Microsoft employees for those who wanted to take advantage of it.
I’d like to hear someone from MS if this has any impact, or if the report is overblowing it? Closing a library and pushing something called “Skilling” Hub sounds cartoonishly stupid and disrespectful.
@MS Folks: Can the Internet Archive get the physical media?
Cost savings in the current era of tech: saw off a foot to lose some weight. Tomorrow doesn’t matter so long as we juice our numbers today.
