Highly recommend checking out Andreas' other work on https://ertdfgcvb.xyz/. Probably one of my favorite websites of all time, his body of work is what complete commitment to an idea looks like. Couple cool hardware projects in there too.

ugh this is maddeningly cool

The monospace font, LL Simple Console, used on this website is so cool. Seems like it is proprietary and cannot be used in other domains. See https://play.ertdfgcvb.xyz/css/simple_console.css

I'm surprised it's so little base64 to encode a font? Like, I would've thought it would be orders of magnitude more, lots of shapes per character etc.

This reminds me of mid-1970s ASCII computer graphics, except more advanced and orders of magnitude faster. In particular, it brought to mind "Mandala" from the book "What to Do After You Hit Return", which was an amazing book in 1975, full of BASIC games and graphics programs that you could type in. If you want the vibe of early home computers, take a look at this book.

Press CMD+. a couple of times to bring up a sidebar with more info and other demos.

CMD+I will enable Immediate Mode, so that every edit you make is reflected in the output as you type.

Why do people use domains like this for actual content? If I saw "ertdfgcvb.xyz" in a search result I'd ignore it as "likely SEO spam".

Looks like it makes a 3x3 pattern on a qwerty keyboard:

    ert
    dfg
    cvb

I am not sure if it's mostly meant to be a meaningless but unique identifier (like "xkcd") or if it's a challenge to the readers to find the real meaning (like "lcamtuf").

For some reason, the box drawing characters aligns properly for me in Chrome but not in Firefox, as seen in the right edge of the blue box. The misalignment is more pronounced in the SDF circle demo:

I wonder if it's just me (different browser locale, maybe?)

Looking at this it looks like that Moore pattern is just waves/signals interacting with each other. Also that low cost effects can be created using these patterns.

I have no idea what I'm looking at but it's cool AF.

Wow I feel like I can see into the Matrix.

Very cool. Is there a pause button?

Ctrl+shift+c lets you copy a frame to clipboard.

No, but you'll come down in about eight hours... LOL.

I like this project--

The layout is well designed--image area, editable code window, and compact navigation--pleasantly proportioned with an excellent demonstration of thematic font choice. And, surprise, some are interactive.

I imagine it's an excellent way to organize and store your collection of animation algos. The 'about' is detailed (https://play.ertdfgcvb.xyz/abc.html#play:about) and interesting to read.

Thanks to OP for sharing.

Am I the only person Moire patterns induce instant and intense nausea in? Is it just a personal "crucifix glitch?"
