AI assistants now function as an external reasoning layer for capital markets.
They summarise filings, compare issuers, infer regulatory posture, generate suitability narratives, and compress disclosure into authoritative conclusions consumed by investors, analysts, journalists, counterparties, and internal teams.
This does not create new disclosure obligations under securities law.
It does create a new and growing exposure: material AI-mediated misstatements about issuers, occurring outside the enterprise perimeter, without monitoring, evidence, or rebuttal capability.
That exposure is no longer theoretical. By the end of 2025, it is measurable, repeatable, and documented.
