The US govt has revoked the non-immigrant visa of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka [video]

Political games like this guy is playing drive me crazy, and then people believe him and don’t do any research.

This guy has a U.S. green card. The letter from USCIS (immigration) is because he previously had a travel visa in his passport that is now invalid since he has a green card. He was claiming that he would protest the U.S. by entering on the visa rather than his green card - at the same time USCIS informed him that the visa was (correctly) being revoked (due to green card status)

I've never heard of him, looked him up on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wole_Soyinka

> In October 2025, Soyinka said that the United States had revoked his visa after comments he made characterizing Donald Trump as "Idi Amin in white face"

Hah... here's hoping "Idi Amin in white face" catches on.

Although the BBC source and YouTube video description says the reason why is a speculation from him, not a sure thing: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c24lzd32yjeo

It is older news, that the US regime is interested in your online activities. But do they actively examine high profile individuals or do they get automated alerts whenever anyone mentions trump negatively?

The latter would imply a surveilance organisation that could be used to punish free speech even further than revoking visas.

Heard him speak at the Scottish Parliament (I think) years ago. I remember him discussing the revelations about Thomas Jefferson.
