This is the console font for OpenBSD (on x86-64, at least).
I'm not sure I like it. A lot of the character shapes (like the C and S) feel too rectangular at large sizes. At smaller sizes, some of the alternate character shapes like the Y, and the rounded corners on characters like F and L, harm readability.
Did the ASCII art in the README get mangled?
No, it's just an odd style of lettering inspired by graffiti throw-ups. I think this style is popular in the warez community.
(It just says "spleen". Nothing exciting.)

It's weirding me out that Wikipedia's page features graffiti of the word ... SPLEEN to illustrate [1]. Wut.
