When I first watched Idiocracy decades ago, I thought it was a funny comedy.

As the years came, I started to see it as a prophecy.

And then, here we are, and we finally found out that Idiocracy is now a documentary.

Hear hear. Also, Carl Sagan’s famous warnings about the decline of science (from 1995) is equally prescient [1]

I've started to feel that the movie is hopelessly optimistic about the future.

I’d love for our terrible presidents to be like Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho. Putting experts in charge and empowering them? Yes please. Instead our worst president brings the cast of “Ow my balls!” into the highest office.

You wish this timeline was Idiocracy. In that universe the president realized he didn't know best, freely admitted it, and recruited the smartest man alive. Even gave him credit for the problems they solved.

That would _never_ happen in this timelime. Imagine Trump thinking "Maybe I dont know anything about the weather, maybe I should ask an expert instead of suggesting nuking a hurricane."

Trump brainstorming about getting light or bleach in the body to kill Covid was a shimmer of him actually acting intelligently. He was just way back on the starting line, whereas most people cover that ground when they're children.

Can you imagine studying at an elite institution, getting your dream job at NASA and your boss hands you your assignment: You have to compose an official response to some influencer clown who thinks the moon landings were fake.

Just assign the work for the specialists: "It's All About the Moon Landing | MythBusters | Season 6 Episode 2 | Full Episode" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yET8Z1D2PUM

An article, for those who don't want to watch the submission's video.

The original Kim Kardashian was replaced years ago. This latest edition is just an AI-generated deepfake.

I suppose we’re to believe she’s not from the Alpha Quadrant either

Who would have thought that freeing OJ would not turn out to be the low point of Robert Kardashian's legacy?

Why is this news?

The last time CNN covered an inane reality show star he became president, so maybe they're prepping us for a fun 2028.

Since it’s Halloween I guess we had to have a terrifying post somewhere.
