Society will accept a death caused by a robotaxi, Waymo co-CEO says

I own and operate a machine I know will kill people and am planning on getting away with releasing it in public, while getting paid for it's use.Repetitivly. The permitting for wind turbines requires companies to get a "take permit", for the number of eagles and other birds they kill. What we are seeing here is an attempt to get a kill permit for people, by a company, to protect there proffits.

It’s only because much of society is too busy reading novels, texting, watching movies, and who knows what else when they supposed to be driving.

The real sickness is that we have to look to software controlled cars as the solution.

I suppose AI will soon be used to deal with the problem of children raised in broken homes.

Waymo co-CEO's managed to give very few. interviews up until now, precisely because the media's going to remove all nuance and grab the juciest pull quote from the interview to get clicks. Why would they start doing interviews now?

Their operating license should be pulled for having this type of attitude.
