I was once an AI true believer. Now I think it's rotting from the inside

I've been pointing this out here for quite some time.

It's a slow motion train wreck that few want to acknowledge --- apparently because of the money to be made.

The only thing LLMs truly excel at is generating nice, grammatically correct prose. Never mind the shortcomings in what is being said.
