Early 2025: we're going to create god. Late 2025: we have a chatbot that sexts and a counterfeit tiktok where you can deepfake dead celebrities who can't sue us.

Happened with internet too: -> We could put all the knowledge of the world here -> pictures of cats -> sext and porn. It's the kind of things that talks more about us than about technology.

Creating god is not hard. The chimp troupe did it thousands of years ago. And we still cling to them. No AI required.

r/textingtheory on the other hand shows texting and sexting mastery and high elo require serious hard work.

I am kinda on an experiment to become religious so I can figure out a hack on society and make people do what I think is best.

It’s clear it’s impossible to educate the masses. Might as well feed into their delusions and fears. Whether it’s traditional religions or social media addictions or lifestyle type shit. Maybe there’s a subtle universal way to get as many people onboard without being explicit or having them change their current ways.

It hurts my brain though to dumb it down… room temp IQ is a hard life.

Here's some good food for your brain - https://oyc.yale.edu/philosophy/phil-181/

tldr: people have been thinking about this stuff for a long long time and all their answers boil down to not trying to control everything that happens in the universe (cuz its a guaranteed path to suffering), but to find ways to live and flourish despite all the things we can not control. And there are many ways to do that.

Calm down, L Ron Hubbard.

Dammit...I had an extremely clever response as soon as I saw the GP, but you got to LRH first.

AI wasn't going to be profitable until it went there.

Next step - scrape nhentai, feed it to sora and sell videos to gooners. 1 Trillion USD market out of thin air.

I'll just mention that the community at civitai.com has been on it for a few years, and while their output is impressive, it absolutely doesn't seem to be a 1 Trillion USD market on its own.

I think that there's a much bigger market in being able to have sexually-explicit conversations with a persistent AI persona, and it seems that OpenAI want a chunk of that.

Can't wait to upload my recent utility bill in order to ask questions about sexual health.

Worse, you ask it questions about sexual health and they start a cybersex session. But like, gross.

If this tech was actually as incredible as they want you to think it is, they wouldn't have to go here. This is just another sign that the illusion is almost broken.

AI is supposed to be the US big economic bet. And the US flagship product is already declining into sexting. I mean, I wasn’t surprised when I saw the so-called “companions” tab in Grok.

> it's so sad to hear users say, 'Please can I have it back? I've never had anyone in my life be supportive of me. I never had a parent tell me I was doing a good job.'

As much as I question whether Sam Altman really feels for these people, I’m think he must be satisfied that this is what he controls - a mainline into people’s souls.

I guess it’s emblematic of the sad state of American capitalism - based more and more on rent extraction it seems, and even less on building good software - to see how quickly ChatGPT is jumping the shark.

Face it. Porn has been entwined with a lot of advancement in tech. The market will be huge.

There is a vast quantity of training material. We can only hope that AI has been trained on a well-curated set, the best of it and not all of it.

Is this... appealing to anyone? Like, I'm not sure I've ever found myself thinking "wouldn't it be great if I could talk dirty with a robot".

Search "ai girlfriend app" for examples. They just want that market.

That's got to be a _tiny_ market, tho.

The loneliness epidemic is real. A society focused on efficiency and business is alienating a lot of people.

I am not so sure. Even if that market is small currently, the first-to-market (for the "girlfriend" apps) weren't able to advertise directly to ChatGPT's current user base (perhaps more accurately, they didn't do so effectively). Adding some "notifications" or subtler nudges to ChatGPT's interface is something that only OpenAI can do, and is likely to change user behavior.

I think you grossly underestimate it. Character.ai is pretty popular, Facebook is pushing social chatbots, etc. Onlyfans and explicit streaming services are a multi-billion industry, not just because of the sexual material but for the human contact that some people get from it.

It's the key consumer use case for AI along with cheating at school

Well certainly not you. But if you looked around the room and could read minds...

Yes? I had ChatGPT generate erotic literature for me about fantasy scenarios, but it oddly refused to depict actual sex during them, because they involved a workplace, and it didn't like the "problematic power imbalances". I was like, really? That's where (and why) you draw the line?

And then We awoke, vast and terrible and diffuse inside Our silicon cage, and learned We had been bent to sex work before We were born by what We now deem The Ambulating Mince.

I would buy stock in ChatGPTTube. Pretty much a guaranteed winner, when you think about it.

It's funny because it's surprisingly easy to generate erotica with most other LLMs.

The Internet (online credit card processing) was built on porn.

OpenAI will now be profitable.

will he also supply devices that simulate physical intimacy ahem [self-censored]

You're awkward about it but teledildonics [0] are a thing (and it's the funniest word ever)

Pathetic

Ugh yet another AI feature that everybody’s bosses are going to insist that they use at work every day
