Show HN: Place to find and share quality websites

intrasti.com

Hi HN,

After 10+ years of learning web development and design and contemplating starting a business online I've finally made headway and launched a website that I can call mine.

It's a website directory, it's fairly basic but built on what I believe is a strong foundation and I'm excited to improve it based on feedback, adapt, and grow.

The problem Intrasti solves is of saturation and quality on the internet by way of moderating every listing (Only SFW allowed) and every submission is associated with who submitted them so it's up to users how they would like to curate.

I'm posting this on HN probably before I should as I'm genuinely looking to connect with peers who are interested in the ProductHunt/AlertnativeTo/etc scene. If you're interested in what I'm building I'd love to hear what you think about this industry.

This is what is on the homepage as I post:

Shift Hosting - is this an ad?

Yaak – The API client fo.. - ... for what? the descriptions need to be longer

Domain Name Search: Find.. - is this an ad?

Call of Duty® | Best-Sel.. - why????

Figma: The Collaborative.. - again, way too short on the description... and is this really a quality site anyone would come to a directory like this for? feels like an ad

Inkscape - Draw Freely. .. - could be nice to have this linked to Figma if you're going to list things like this, as they do somewhat similar things but one is free

Finally, the rest of the examples are mostly just well known or big companies...

Apple

Bleep · Organize Your Id..

Xbox Official Site: Cons..

YouTube

GitHub · Build and ship ..

Connect, protect, and bu..

OneLook Dictionary Searc..

Hacker News

Lucide

Intrasti - ends with the site... I'm currently on

I think you can really improve this by having a better homepage with good examples right off the bat

Hi leakycap, thanks for checking it out, it means a lot!

All of the submissions apart from one an hour ago (got my first user!) are submitted by me, for example Call of Duty is on there because that's what I do in my spare time, Shift Hosting is what I've chosen for hosting because of the cost x perf ratio and they seem great, YouTube is on there because that's where I learned to program from TheNewBoston, and so fourth.

I agree in general it's not great.. but it's a start and I have the skills to improve it and fully committed to doing so. For example favicon support, profiles to see who posted what, features centered around curation and such.

I'm currently working on implementing a changelog to give a better idea on what's happening so if you're still curious I recommend keeping an eye out for that and I'd love to hear any more ideas you have.
