Ever wondered if "showering in cold water daily boosts your immune system and reduces sick days by 30%" is legit science or total bunk? Or if cracking your knuckles really leads to arthritis? Introducing Truth or Myth: fresh web app where you post debatable claims—myths, quirky facts, personal hacks, historical oddities—and the crowd votes "Truth" or "Myth," piling on with evidence, anecdotes, and witty rebuttals. It's like a digital myth-busters arena meets trivia showdown, harnessing collective wisdom to separate fact from fiction in real-time.
Why build this? In a world drowning in misinformation and half-truths, we wanted a fun, low-stakes way to fact-check the weird stuff we all hear. Drop a gem and watch votes roll in live, and spark threads full of studies, personal stories, or hilarious debunkings. It's perfect for skeptics, trivia buffs, and anyone killing time productively—plus, we're adding community-resolved badges for epic wins.
Tech deets: Solo-built with Next.js for a snappy UI, Supabase handling auth, database, and realtime updates, all on Vercel. Clean, mobile-responsive, no ads or tracking nonsense. Open to feedback or contribs (repo coming if it pops).
