Ask HN: hn for biz students?

I'm not a biz student, but when I built hnDir for my school, some of the biz students feel sort of left out. Is there a community online that exists for business students, much like hn exists for hackers?

Thanks for the plug mixmax! :)

i like newmogul a lot - has become an instant hourly reload for me

HN-clone?

Yes but with a business focus. I think nickb created it.

he did

Only in the sense of structure, not value. What makes HN special is the quality of discussion which goes on here; Newmogul on the other hand seems to have no discussion. The most active post at the moment has 3 comments on it. Perhaps, the site will get more active over time.

I wonder what it is about hackers that makes them talk so much. It's a good thing.

I would guess that it has a lot more to do with the volume of traffic on newmogul vs HN than the type of people.

Not only that but a lot of traffic on NM is from corporations. And I mean, there's like 50% of traffic coming from various F1000 & banking institutions. Problem with them is that some are too afraid to post anything that might be traced back to them.

I'm thinking about adding SSL and removing IP logging to facilitate communication. Not sure yet what the best solution would be.

That's actually really interesting. How much traffic does the site get anyways?

Yes, I agree. That's what I meant by 'Perhaps, the site will get more active over time'.

HN isn't solely for hackers, there are plenty of people here who can't write a line of code.

Is HN open source? I never thought about that...
