Tech leaders take turns flattering Trump at White House dinner

Pukable behaviour by these CEOs. Perhaps only Bill Gates stands out a little for mentioning his "2nd career" and doesn't brown nose DJT.

Just as a reminder, the person these CEOs are cheerfully meeting with is either a brutal pedophile, or at the very least, the documented best friend of one of the most prolific and notorious pedophiles in America -- someone the administration is trying to wipe from the news cycle through any means necessary, including pampering his co-conspirator/co-rapist and claiming the whole thing is some sort of Democratic hoax. Lies upon lies to conceal the rape of countless children in service of the glorious Party. But these tech magnates don’t give an iota of a shit as long as the money keeps flowing in.

This is some real end-of-a-republic degeneracy. Decades down the line, people will point to these events in history books to show that we weren’t remotely as civilized as we thought. In a just world everyone at this table would spend their retirement years in a cell.

Absolute sadness. Being one of the richest persons in the world and still having to kiss ass.

To me, the weirdest part of this is that they're doing it because it apparently works so well on Trump. I can intellectually understand Trump having differing views from mine and a very different personality but it's hard to comprehend how anyone can be a wealthy business executive and media personality for decades who achieved at least some level of functional success and still not intuitively recognize the obvious motivations behind such flattery or praise and dismiss them completely. Wealthy, famous people have nearly everyone blowing smoke up their ass - especially in politics. I can't understand how anyone could function at all in that context without developing natural immunity to it. Yet, by publicly repeating the flattery/praise he receives from others, as well as clearly seeking it out, Trump gives every indication he accepts it as credible and that its important to him.

There are perhaps a dozen people in the world whose praise would be both credible and meaningful to me.

I guess this is a dupe, actually: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45139891
