YouTube Audio Player. Save bandwidth and data by playing only the audio from YouTube videos.

Please don’t be harsh with me—I’m new to vibe coding, lol.

Experience YouTube Like Never Before Our audio-first approach revolutionizes how you consume YouTube content:

Background Listening: Keep the audio playing while using other apps or with your screen off Data Saver Mode: Automatically selects the optimal audio quality for your connection Uninterrupted Playback: Listen without video ads or visual distractions Battery Saver: Reduce power consumption by up to 60% compared to video playback

How does it work? Paste any YouTube URL to extract the audio stream while maintaining quality.

What content works best? Ideal for music, podcasts, lectures, and any audio-focused content.

How much bandwidth can I save? Save up to 90% data compared to video streaming.

Yes

Doesn't YouTube automatically only stream audio when it detects your don't have the tab active?

really? can you show me the source?

Can't find the video about it anymore, but I remember watching a video where someone showed it using the devtools. I believe after having the tab inactive you should see only audio being received by the browser (using devtools)

Oh this is so cool! Just tried it out, great little product!

Thank you

I'm guessing this won't work on live streams?

it works, test it yourself!

Surprise, it does!

Invidious already has this feature

Clever idea — I can see this being perfect for long podcasts or lectures where the video isn’t needed. Curious how you’re handling YouTube’s TOS on this though, seems like it could be a tricky part.

I don’t think it’s against the TOS. Some people just want to listen to audio to save bandwidth. It’s not doing anything extreme — just hiding the video. It’s a chill, vibe-y coding project for a harmless site.
