I built a growing collection of creative, quirky name generators

Hi HN,

I recently launched [https://name-generator.app](https://name-generator.app), a personal side project that’s evolved into a growing collection of *creative and expressive name generators*. It started with one idea: names are powerful tools for storytelling, identity, and imagination.

Some examples:

* *[Dune Name Generator](https://name-generator.app/dune-name-generator)*: Inspired by Frank Herbert’s universe, choose a faction (Fremen, Atreides, Harkonnen, etc.) and get names that reflect the tone and lore of the books. * *[She/They Name Generator](https://name-generator.app/she-they-name-generator)*: Designed to help folks explore gender-affirming names that feel right. It includes soft, elegant, fantasy, and nature-inspired name sets.

Unlike many random generators online, I’ve focused on:

* Clean, minimal design (no popups, no ads) * Custom name styles for different identities and aesthetics * Always expanding – new generators coming soon (fantasy, sci-fi, anime, hacker aliases, etc.)

There’s no tracking or login—just a lightweight front-end experience that invites creativity and self-expression. It’s used by writers, roleplayers, game designers, and people exploring new names for themselves.

If you’re curious, I’d love your feedback—or ideas for what kinds of name generators you'd like to see added!
