Silicon Valley AI Startups Are Embracing China's Controversial 996 Work Schedule

That doesn't surprise me. The amount of disdain these companies show for people is amazing.

Straight up, if your AI company requires 996 scheduling to succeed, then your AI that’s supposed to eliminate every job forever, sucks.

Any AI startup demanding such onerous work schedules should be a huge red flag to investors and workers, since the whole sales pitch of AI is to reduce the need for work.

Just don’t work for those companies. They’re lying to someone - you, the investors, or themselves - and you’re better off elsewhere.

Local Mongoose is embracing not working for companies of any kind implementing 996 work schedule.

That's right - the yachts won't buy themselves.

For some of the compensations I have heard, 996 sounds light. I I would expect a bit more commitment, 697 for example.

We need to eliminate overtime exceptions.

Any senior engineers facing this feel free to reach out, we are now four day work week at full comp (serious). Remote, not 'Silicon Valley'.

Makes sense to consider it if the compensation is rich enough!
