Ask HN: How Does Youtubetotext Work?

1 pointobayesshelton0 comments

So I am using the YouTube API and for example this Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4W64WGFy-Js I cannot get captions. However https://www.youtubetotext.org/?s=1&v=4W64WGFy-Js&lang=en-GB will return captions.

Does anyone know how they are doing this?
