Artist in Residence on a Satellite

In 2014 Russia launched a Japanese small satellite built by the University of Tokyo, designed to take selfies of Hello Kitty with text messages that were loaded before the launch: https://www.space.com/26850-hello-kitty-in-space-messages.ht...

I found this plan for art on the SCA-1, technology has come a long way in 10 years: https://www.ekac.org/the.silent.circle.kac.html

Planet Labs has had an artist in residence program at times. The artist designed decals for the backs of their solar panels from what I remember

Neither the title (The first satellite of the "Star Chain of Arts Project," "SCA-1," successfully launched into orbit) nor what the article is about.

An Art satellite that shows images on a screen in space and takes selfies of the screen is.. interesting
