What is the end game here? Imagine they turn off the internet to millions of homes after just being accused. Do they think that is going to help sell media? Those households are going to have way bigger issues to deal with than trying to buy the latest album when their home becomes less livable. They will have to switch to a less ridiculous ISP or move. Then what happens to the connection to that house? Does it get turned back on for the new occupants? If those people moved to another home on the same ISP are they going to track that and prevent them from acquiring internet service?
The whole thing sounds not worth the effort for anyone involved.
