Anyone else get spam texts from Y Combinator Recruiting?

We just received an email from someone enquiring about this. In case this needs to be clarified, it's spam, not sent by Y Combinator. There's only one Lauren at YC, not in recruiting or marketing, and nobody has the title “Recruitment Marketing Manager”.

Thank you.

Absolutely ridiculous I got one yesterday and another one today from the same person Lauren telling me that she’s offering me an opportunity to make a minimum of $800 for four days plus bonuses assuming this is a total scam. If there are any legitimate opportunities, I am recently retired from the banking finance management and solid Waste environmental industry for well over 45 years. Thx. Vincent vjbarone@outlook.com.

Hope your able to identify this hacker and destroy them

You can file a report against them here-https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ keep screenshots if you tell them to leave you alone and they keep messaging, even if under different emails. Small claim attorneys will work cases like this under contingency and you can sue for repeated harassment. They have contacted me several times despite asking them not to and being on the do not contact list :/

Yes!! I literally just received a text from this “person”!! This is the email that it came from: robertwoodwardzbfo4147@outlook.com.ar

Yes! I just got this same message now. I wanted to make sure it was, in fact, a scam.

I filed a report against them here: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ take screenshots telling them to stop harassing you. You can make a small claim lawsuit if they keep bothering you after requesting to stop.

My impression is that in the last month there's been a Cambrian Explosion in scam text of all sorts, also I see a lot of what I think are affiliation scams on Bluesky and Mastodon targeting, not least, open source developers, chronically ill people, transgender people, and anime fans. I just got a scam text last night that said I owed NY State a lot in freeway tolls.

I wouldn't be surprised if Scam, Inc [1] was branching out.

I got a text offering me a remote job with this company.

Yeah I got that same exact text 30 mins ago

That's the one that I received. "You can work from anywhere for 60 to 90 minutes a day and earn anywhere from $200 to $500 each day, with a guaranteed $800 base every four days. There is a paid five-day trial period, and monthly earnings could exceed $5000 with bonuses included." So, everyone can look forward to having scammers like this checking in with you from time to time as you age. Checking your cognition, seeing if you have a trusting nature--these types will be checking up on us forever, trying to determine if our mental capacity has been ravaged by time, or if we are just ignorant of scams. It's worse than the temporarily financially embarrassed Nigerian prince, because it came through a text rather than an email. So, passively, you are going to see it. The security breaches are non-stop and it's beyond irritating to be targeted by such low life scammers. Anyone have an opinion of companies like Incogni --that are supposed to get your data removed from data brokers?

Same situation from Michael641@jiaqifuwu.com

Thanks for the heads up. I too received a text from Lauren at Y Combinator. Your warnings are enough to get me to pause. ~Stephen

Same situation from michael641@jiaqifuwu.com

I also received a text from Lauren at Y Combinator. Thank you for the heads up.

Lauren is pretty busy today. I got a text from "Lauren from Y Combinator." The job title was no longer in the text. Maybe it's adapting, like a disgusting virus.
