Vietnam scraps two-child policy as it tackles falling birthrate

I didnt even know they had this population control policy

I assumed only China has such policy too

This does not help anything at all.

Being fined would be very down in the list why people may not want to have more than 2 children.

Even in many cities, the birthrate is barely over 1.5.

If they don't solve the real root cause, they would be in even worse place than China or Korea or Japan.

This is wrong: they should not scrap this policy. They should keep it in place, and triple the fines. Scrapping the policy is the same as admitting they were wrong, and they shouldn't do that.

>threaten economic growth plans

Come on people, the "line goes up" crowd needs more economic cannon fodder. How dare you threaten their investment plans? /s

I had a chat with an Indian friend about economic articles praising India's continuous population growth and his response was: "it's not good, it means more people born in poverty, it's just more slave labor".

The human capital stock is getting uppity and refusing to breed.
