> The European Union’s Digital Services Act, billed to protect children from harmful online content, is instead used to silence dissident voices through Orwellian content moderation.

Pornhub is blocked in 17 US states.

SWAT gets deployed on university protestors. Degrees get yanked. Trump blocks respected news orgs (AP) from the oval office for calling Gulf of Mexico by its name.

> Across Europe, governments have weaponized political institutions against their own citizens and against our shared heritage.

Like ICE?

I'll take my chances in Europe.

It's really rich someone from the current administration wanting to lecture anyone else on human rights, freedom, or anything, really.

I would love there would be a way to have a Undo Nefarious Doofus' Orders act as soon as the next president is elected.

Until then, let's just get downvoted by the "Lock her up" crowd for insufficient solidarity with Hungary and Marine Le Pen:

Leading French presidential candidate Marine LePen was charged with embezzlement and, departing from standard procedure, immediately banned from running.

Convicted, not "charged". The ban is for 5 years only. She is able to appeal. She is also getting special treatment in having her appeal date moved ahead of the 2027 election. Even if the appeal doesn't go her way she'll spend 2 years with an ankle bracelet and never see the inside of a cell.

How cruel must France be to deny Le Pen her 4th try at becoming president. France has 66 million people, but god forbid they find a better servant of the people instead of putting this weathered nutsack on the ballot for 20 years.

The Department of State has a substack?! Really?
