Although this is sad, it's important for planning purposes to be clear what is being factored into energy funding with near term application. The technologies we have are the ones we have to apply at scale to the current problem, we're not going to dig out of the carbon hole hoping for a fusion led pathway.

hmmmm, thing is I went ahead and did a fusion power upgrade on my house 12 years ago and it works great, the fusion unit itself is how should we say...."uncontained" , but I find keeping it 150 million kilometers away, to be about right, and just convert the raw fusion output into electricity, localy
