Yes but at some point you can stop understanding how it works. Maybe it wasn't the best example but I think picking it apart misses the larger point.
All of life is “energy conversion”. All of programming is “translation”. All programming is “solving problems”. Etc.
Not all abstractions generalize (in an useful way).
