Oh, God! Please, no.

Though I can certainly draw some parallels between Tinder and the job market. The supply and demand issues, the ghosting after a date/interview, people selling themselves well above their actual value… it’s all there. Awful for everybody, I guess.

I don’t know why but for a moment I thought this was about switching jobs among two strangers. Say, I advertise “Senior Software engineer at company X, team Y, salary Z, wishes to switch to a similar position and compensation in another company”. So, if you match the requirements more or less, you swipe right (or left, not sure which one is the “let’s do it”). Then candidates would chat via their company email at first (to confirm they actually work there). Their respective manager would then approve the move without interviewing them at all.

Crazy, eh?

Must be one of the most common executed startups. Must have been at least 1000 tinder for jobs launched last 10 years.

I made a Tinder for recipes once to decide what to eat. A mentor said that everyone's doing Tinder because it was what was popular at the time. He was right; it made more sense to not do it in Tinder format.

really? where are they? IT seems like the only way to learn about jobs is Indeed or Craigslist

That sounds like an equal opportunity nightmare.

Just like Tinder itself.

is it just an idea or some prototype can be played and tested?

it's an idea I started brainstorming with an LLM recently. didn't get very far

oh, well. . I guess Hackernews is not a good place to get help with this
