AI Food Detection and Free Calorie Counter App by Recipe

Hey HN – Odeh here.

I wanted a quick, no-login tool to understand what I was eating — especially when eating out or experimenting in the kitchen.

So I built WhatTheFood.io — an AI food scanner that analyzes a meal photo and returns macros, ingredients, serving size, and how to make it.

It’s free, no signup, just something I wanted to exist. Great for curious cooks, health-conscious folks, or quantified-self nerds.

Let me know what weird foods it fails on or if you have improvement ideas.
