OpenAI to make country-specific ChatGPT

How much will this accelerate cultural homogenity?

"Project Stargate is OpenAI’s plan to invest $500 billion in AI infrastructure over the next few years, with help and support from the US government." "OpenAI will also create custom versions of ChatGPT for each country’s citizens." Wonder how different one country's model will be than another's? Also wonder how they're weighting ideas (words, values, etc.) differently from one model to the next, who gets to make those choices, and what they're basing those decisions on.

Talk about soft power.
