NZ airport to remove Hobbit-themed eagle sculptures

> The giant birds will be unfastened from the airport ceiling to make way for a new mystery exhibit

Glad to see the BBC is producing their quota of click bait.

Strange to take the subtitle for an image and call it clickbait. The actual quote is:

> But the giant birds will be unfastened from the ceiling on Friday to make way for a new mystery exhibit, airport authorities said.

And they elaborate further on in the article:

> "We're working with Wētā Workshop on some exciting plans for a unique, locally themed replacement to take their place," Mr Clarke said. "We'll unveil what's next later this year so keep watching the skies."

Even back than air travwl helped to fill plotholes in hwroic biographies ..

1.2 tonnes of polystyrene!

> Made of polystyrene and with an internal steel skeleton,

They weight 1.2 tons total. If they are made of polystyrene and steel, it stands to reason that a significant part of the 1.2 tons is contributed by the steel.
