Wanted: Manly jobs for manly men

I read the whole thing and through most of it struggled to understand the point the writer was trying to make. I think they finally made it clearly at the end, and it's essentially, "We might not need to worry too much about all these unemployed men, because Amazon is always hiring more warehouse workers."

Hrm.

Worth mentioning even the Soviet Union ran into this problem when shuffling former serfs to work in factories, which today we think as “manly” but in the 1930s did not carry such a reputation with those outside of urban centers
