9front "clause 15 common elements of maus and star type" released

Very interesting that this is on the front page. I’m totally out of the loop here and the title and even descriptions seem like some arcane spellbook in a mystical language.

There must be some niche of Hacker News I’ve fallen totally out of touch with.

I think the title is just the name of the newest release of 9front (an active fork of plan9), similar to how Bookworm is the name for Debian release 12.

What is it? Can someone provide any context about that?

Even the main page of the 9front website just provide an image but no context...

A fork of Plan9 OS? https://fqa.9front.org/fqa0.html#0.1

> NIX — High performance cloud computing is NIX — imploded in a cloud of political acrimony and retarded bureaucratic infighting

Not the same as Nix, the declarative package manager and linux distro, but an amusing coincidence.

A continuation of Plan9, Bell's experimental unix-successor that never really took off.

That cover image looks familiar.
