Social media and map apps blamed for record rise in mountain rescue callouts

My scariest hike has been in Scotland. You would think that you cannot get lost on mountains without any tree, and yet I did. Thank god I was near the sea and I knew the road was in that direction.

Google maps is absolutely useless once you reach a mountain, whether you have a car, bicycle or by foot. Yet we are losing map reading skills at alarming rate, replacing it with failed mapping technology.
