If we take it as a given that BC was inspired by TGG, would you say that the source particulars was healthier? Ginevra ("Geneva"/"Juniper") as depicted in Winter Dreams

>He gained the trust (and the faith) of its people through the outdoorsman skills he acquired in his hunting life.

(One of those rare gods whose father was more mortal-- thus giving credit to the age-old wisdom of marrying up? (Veblen! GOLF! Elite Hillbillies!))

[Recent moves, however, remind that imbecility/juvenility could make particularly effective feints. Pay ever more attention to health!]

Dexter Green may be on a different side of the law from Bobby Quine and Jay Gatz, but not only does Ginevra add a note of autobiography, with regard to the end of DG's caddying* days there's always FSF's resignation: "...I expect to have my life influenced by the demands of moneyed people. But I will be damned if I propose to be at the beck and call of every itinerant scoundrel who has two cents to invest in a postage stamp."

* TIL Jordan Baker was modelled on "the fairway flapper" friend of Ginevra's

EDIT: I'm not sure if Hubert is a wise choice to be the patron saint of opticians (being famous for a visual aberration, after all?)

Sir,-- did you confuse FSfG with WCF?

(TIL- need to compare with the influence of Estelle Oldham

Ahaha I do wonder what 2 cents in today's genius-bucks (aka the Stag Standard?) would be

E: not reminded of St Benjamin pointing St Luke at Dagobah?

U: Alpaida seems to have been more interesting (along Genevan lines) than writers (& st Lam) made of her

Oops! Indeed I had confused them.

St Benjamin and St Luke imply that Tatooine, instead of a trinity, has a "Big Four": the father, the two suns, and the holy ghost...

Haha. Noted: opportunity to reference GoF not taken.
