I created my first product demo video using only free-tier tools

Finally made a product demo video — without spending much or showing my face :-)

I’m a solo dev. A while ago, I built a Jira Marketplace App that turned into a small side project with a few paying customers. For years, I wanted to make a demo video to help explain what it does, but I kept putting it off. Mostly because I didn’t really know how to start — and I didn’t want to spend hundreds on software.

Last week, I finally did it using free-tier tools: HeyGen for AI avatar, ElevenLabs for voice, CapCut for editing, and the Windows Snipping Tool for screen recording.

If you’re doing everything yourself — building, marketing, support — this setup might save you some time. Happy to share how I did it.
