Cutting of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope [1] seems incredibly shortsighted and wasteful. It is set to launch in 2027, and is designed to answer basic questions about dark energy

Support of NASA has historically been very bipartisan.

It is not over yet. This is only the proposed budget. As hard as it is to believe, there is evidence that Congress can be moved by the voice of the people.

Following the announcement of Trumps plan for the biggest military budget EVER [trump voice] of $1T (previously in the $800B range)[1]… good thing DOGE has cut all the other waste. I am personally thankful that we’ll get to experience the age of maximum government efficiency and spending constraint

According to the "passback" documents given to NASA officials on Thursday, the space agency's science programs would receive nearly a 50 percent cut in funding. After the agency received $7.5 billion for science in fiscal-year 2025, the Trump administration has proposed a science topline budget of just $3.9 billion for the coming fiscal year.

time to slim down nasa and do more with less
