Y Combinator IRC channel?

I've been a member of many social bookmarking sites basically since their beginnings - and I've rarely seen discussion that is up to par with the quality of the Ycombinator comments section.

Is there already an IRC channel for Ycombinator? If not, then let's make one!

There is #startups on irc.freenode.net with some people from here hanging there.

For you continued convenience, simply sit back, click here, and enjoy:

http://mibbit.com/?server=irc.freenode.net&channel=%23st...

</shameless type="plug">

Ahem it's <plug type="shameless"> </plug>

Also I typo'd "you" instead of "your". It really is true that each child you have removes some of your brain cells.

I think that could better be represented as <plug type="shameless" />

now thats impressive.

Plug the hell away. Mibbit offers some of the best functionality of any site I've used, ever. I thought it was so cool to find out about Mibbit elsewhere and then to find out that you'd made it.

looks pretty dead...noone is talking

It's pretty lively actually. IRC channels are never active 24/7.. There are always gaps.

what times is it active?

All around the clock... just hang around for a few hours...

Jep. If i scroll back, it's only maybe 10 minutes maximum when nothing is said. So you just need to stay :)

Also check out http://jircii.dashnine.org an open source irc client I wrote awhile ago. [Another shameless plug] :)

There is also the chatterous room for HN at http://www.chatterous.com/hnyc/

I don't think I can take another Hacker News time-sucking/addicting feature now.
