US Republicans "stopped time" wrt responding to the POTUS emergency Tariff powers a full twenty nine days ago.

    Each day for the remainder of the first session of the 119th Congress shall not constitute a calendar day for purposes of section 202 of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622) with respect to a joint resolution terminating a national emergency declared by the President on February 1, 2025.

While it sounds shockingly stupid that one party in Congress tries to censor the whole Congress it is quite restricted what it censors. The latest tariffs claim to call on IEEPA which doesn't even mention the word tariff. But it's a downhill slope from here, and the Republicans don't realize that no matter how painful (to watch from Europe) the next years will be, just like every autocrat before Trump and his cronies will fail and it will end the Republican party as well.

This is quite telling. I'd be curious what this aide thought the role of Congress is.

Today is March 11, 2025. Tomorrow is March 11, 2025. Etc., etc., etc.
